    If you work in the Entertainment Industry you travel and many travel often. Up until now, word of mouth has been the primary means to find short-term housing. Our goal is to take advantage of the six degrees of connection we all share and create a worldwide resource where we can rent with confidence and that will benefit all who use it. Six Degrees Housing will be the only place you'll need to look the next time you want to rent your home or need a home away from home for an extended, short-term stay.

Our goal is for this site to become the one stop resource for industry friendly short term housing.     The entertainment industry is a worldwide community of people who live and work around the globe. Many own second homes in very beautiful places and almost everyone in the industry travels for vacation. So whether its a property for work or play, Six Degrees Housing is the place to list or find what you are looking for.
  7. WHEN Should I List My Property?
    List NOW! You can list it for any date / dates you choose over the next year, so, it doesn't matter if you're ready to rent today or in six months. Remember, while some renters are last minute renters, many search months in advance of their travel dates, so allow ample time when you list.

    The dictionary defines the entertainment industry as “those involved with providing entertainment as a profession”. As broad as that is, the “Industry” is a tightly knit community of independent professionals linked together whether they like it or not. Their reputations precede them, literally; it's how they survive. Six Degrees Housing is founded on the principle that these collective reputations will maintain a sense of honesty, integrity and confidence while using the site.
    By signing up as an industry member you are confirming that a percentage of your livelihood is derived from your involvement providing entertainment.
  9. CAN I Be Sure Someone Is In The Industry?
    In this day and age anyone who is in the entertainment industry is Google-able or IMDB-able or Facebook-able... We all have a public profile out there. So, in an effort to keep the www.sixdegreeshousing.com community real, we ask that you link to that public profile here. We will never publicize it, share it or do anything with it without your permission. It's just another step in trying to make sure everyone is who he or she say they are. Although we hope that everyone is honest in his or her representation of themselves, we cannot guarantee that they are in the Industry and recommend, as with any business transaction, that both sides of the renting process practice due diligence. Your personal links are the first place prospective owners and renters will look to confirm affiliation.     No, you do not. Anyone can use the site and particularly any property owner who wants to rent their place to this prolific group of travelers.

    You do not need an account to search. An account is free of charge and allows you to post listings and contact owners when you are ready to rent. It takes just 30 seconds to get an account.

  12. IS It Difficult?
    Not at all. We have designed the site for ease of use. Searching is as simple as telling us where you want to stay, and posting is quick, easy and to the point. We even guide you through a few simple screens to help. The site is laid out in an intuitive fashion with helpful hints along the way. We've also kept the site sparse on text and clutter free, making it easy on the eyes and easy to navigate.
  13. WHAT About Privacy?
    Private email addresses are not visible on the site. Our search works by assessing and mapping the Geolocation of a property, so we have no reason to publish your address and we never will. The only time your email address will be visible is if you decide to take your prospective renter or owner off the site and communicate on your own.
  14. WHAT Is Geolocation?
    Our Geolocation Search functions just like a google map search: If you are located in a neighborhood, in a city, your property will appear in that city search, and it will also appear in that neighborhood search. If someone searches a different neighborhood in that city, your property will not appear in that search. For that reason, we recommend that those with multiple properties in multiple neighborhoods post each property individually for the best search results.
  15. WHEN Will My Listing Be Live?
    In most cases your property will be live within seconds.
  16. HOW Do I Cancel My Listing?
    Go to your Account Page and click Properties. Click the orange Edit button and go to the Complete page and click UNPUBLISH. This essentially cancels your property; it will not be visible to anyone but you. Should you choose at a later date, clicking PUBLISH can make your property posting LIVE again.
